Turn Passion into Profit Myth….

There is a BIG myth floating around the business consultant space, particularly with women entrepreneurs and transformational business “consultants” and coaches. It’s the “Turn your Passion into Profit Myth”.

 

Now, while this is certainly a catchy title and great “idea”, it is a myth.

  1. Not all passions are profitable. For example, there are a lot of things I love and am deeply passionate about, but I am certain, that I would be hard pressed to have someone pay for them. 
  2. Not all deeply held passions have bankable buyers- i.e. people who are paying for that passion…

The goal as a business owner/entrepreneur, is to create an intersection between the things you love to do AND bankable buyers; this is the money sweet spot.

I liken this to a peanut butter cup- Take 2 things that are awesome and melt them together for even greater “awesomeness”.  In this case, it would be you and some bankable buyers.

Don’t believe the hype of passion into profit.

Go out, find what you love and what you are good at AND some buyers who have a history of paying for that good, service or result. One thing for certain is- BUYERS BUY!!!

Now some of you may be thinking, ok, Tiph, “but where do you find buyers???”… simply, go to Amazon.com, Everything for Dummies, and other buyer’s websites and see what people are paying for.

Where are buyer’s “hanging out”.

This is a clue to what they will spend money on. People don’t just buy one thing. They buy lots of the same things, when they are deeply passionate.
